What do you think of painted cabinets? I have maple in my kitchen and I like them, but I think if I had a choice I would choose color...maybe a combination of both wood and paint.

I love painted cabinets... and mix in a little "real" wood for a nice accent! I love, love, love the blue cabinet picture but I'd probably stick with white....and a nice natural wood island!

Well....we have talked about this. Color is KING! lol As you know, I am in the middle of a re-decorate of my kitchen and considered painting my maple cabinets too. In the end, I got exactly what I was looking for by painting the walls a green apple green and adding strong accents in black and white!

We painted the cabinets in our first home Fire Engine Red back in 1978. I haven't had painted cabinets since, but I think I would love Brick red cabinets in my next place, perhaps with butcher block counter tops and straw colored walls.

I really like them all. I like my white cabinets, but I think it would be fun to have a white and blue kitchen with butter yellow cabinets. Neat post!
ReplyDeleteI've been giving this some serious thought, too. I love a mix of dark wood and rich, worn color. Old English look. I'm about ready to break out the paint brushes. :)
