The Leather Pouf

The leather pouf is my new furniture obsession and I'm not the only one, as
I was searching for images, I found many blogs posting about this fun and practical accessory.

We had a vintage brown, perfectly worn pouf in the store for a while. We knew it wouldn't last long and once it was sold I realized what a wonderful addition it made to the vignette.

I would love to have this piece in my living room, I have given up on the idea of finding a vintage piece, but the new ones come is so many great colors.

I think an orange or turquoise pouf would make a fun addition to the room!

A "New" Coffee Table

I found these coffee table images at Apartment Therapy, the iron bases are from vintage antique wood stoves...

I thought they were so cool and clever that I showed the images to Hubby (not really believing he was paying attention). A few days later he brings me home one he found in the woods while doing a work site survey! He listened and I think it's one of the most romantic things he could do for me!

We have some work to do...not sure what color to paint it, but I think I prefer a wood top. I hope to show off this diamond in the rough very soon.

Nicole Flint

I love vintage furniture, but most of the time the upholstery needs to be replaced.

Nicole Flint has introduced a unique way to update a vintage chair...

Kitchen Cart

I bought this cart a couple of months ago and it's been sitting on the porch waiting for me to decide what to do with it.

I like the narrow dimensions, but I couldn't decide if I should paint it or leave the rusty finish...

So glad I decided to paint it!

My "New" Sofa

I love the look of a vintage sofa and have always wanted to have one in my home. I even did a post on this subject about a year ago...my family was less than enthusiastic about changing out our current sofa.

So when Hubby and I saw this pretty little thing at the antique mall for a very good price, newly reupholstered in a really pretty Ralph Lauren fabric, we (meaning me) knew the perfect place for it...

LOVE IT!!

Dining Room Update

I finished upholstering my wrought iron chairs and now they look like they belong in my dining room...

Remember the "before" pictures, they looked like they belonged more out in the garden.

Now my dining room has that "vintage eclectic" look I strive for.

Vintage Metal Porch Glider

Last year about this time I did a post on Vintage Gliders and to tell you the truth I haven't even thought about outside projects because I've been so busy with inside projects. That is until this flyer came in the mail...

Grandin Road has reproduction gliders for sale in blue, red, green or white. I still love the "real vintage" gliders, but it's nice to know there is place to find the "next best thing".

Chairs, Chairs, Chairs

Surprise! I found some "new" vintage chairs...yes I have a problem, but check these fabulous pieces out.

This is actually a counter stool, I now need to find another unique piece and I can replace my current "average" looking stools. (the price for this...$0)

I found 2 of these wrought iron garden chairs at the antique mall. I plan on using them as dining chairs...I know they don't look like they would be very comfortable, but see the circle on the back and the screw holes...I'm going to upholster them. I can't wait to get this project done.

Then yesterday at the thrift shop, I found 4 of these vintage iron chairs.

I need to recover the seat cushions, maybe something with a 50's look. I will be selling these (I need to make some money to supply my "chair addiction").

"New" Antique Chair

This is my latest addition to my chair obsession collection.

I love the high back and the patina of the wood is gorgeous. It was love at first sight and I'm happy I splurged.

Tole Painted Dresser

I bought this dresser last summer and it's been sitting in my basement waiting for a home. My family thinks it's ugly, but I think it's beautiful (a common occurance). So my son helped me bring it upstairs and we moved it into every room, trying to find a place for it...

no luck finding it a home...so it sits in my front hall. I don't want to sell it because I'm afraid I'll regret it later.

Now we will haul it up to the attic and use it for storage. Someday a spot will open up...

Does this happen to other people?!

Thrifting

I had a great time at the thrift stores this weekend...

This desk is going into the den once I get it fixed up and painted

Love the bamboo look of this mirror!

These chairs just need to be cleaned up and then I'm bringing them to my shop.

So...I bought a desk, mirror and two antique chairs for less than $50...a great thrifting weekend!
