Tables & Chairs

Never ever ever ever match your chairs to the table...because what fun would that be?!

These are just a few of the many images from Pinterest.

Dining Room Update

I finished upholstering my wrought iron chairs and now they look like they belong in my dining room...

Remember the "before" pictures, they looked like they belonged more out in the garden.

Now my dining room has that "vintage eclectic" look I strive for.

Dining Room

I have finally finished some projects!

Remember the before?

Then I added some art paper to the back

But I still wasn't happy...
So I took the paper off, painted the piece green and added a different wallpaper. This was all part of my "step it up" plan for my dining room.

Love it! The room is coming together nicely. Do you like my new window coverings? I'll share pictures of the completed room soon...

Thanks for visiting

Step it up!!

I love looking at people's blogs. Every time I see a home that makes me go "Wow!" I add it to my blog list and lately I have been adding a lot.

I thought my home was looking pretty good, but now I realize, I need to step it up. This is a good thing! I have so many new ideas, most of them budget friendly (thank you fellow bloggers). I am having so much fun and I am excited to reveal all the changes...

I have decided to take it a room at a time. Actually I love a couple of rooms in my home , but a couple could use a little something...

A few Things I might be changing...

Windows

I love wallpaper, especially floral with a black background.

Now that I have discovered painting furniture, something needs painting.

A fabulous antique clock would look marvelous.

Every room could use a vase of fresh flowers.

I have no idea when I'll be able to complete this, remember I have budget and a husband I have to work with, but as soon as it's done you will be the first to see!

Dining Room

Last week I read the blog by Tracy Porter about adding another "layer" to her dining room.  I love the idea of designing in layers, since I never believe a room is completed. As you get used to a room, it starts to feel a little boring. Instead of redoing everything at one time, always look for things to update and improve.

My dining room has needed some attention for a while. I have had a couple of ideas for a while, it just took some time to implement them. So last weekend I made a point to get the projects done

The cabinet was an easy fix. I bought decorative sheets of writing paper from the local craft store and patch worked them to the back wall.

The painting project was a little more effort - we measured, taped and then painted.

I am really happy with the results. I still need something else for the large wall behind the church pew, but it no longer looks so empty.

Dining Room

The dining room is painted aqua. My favorite color and the starting point of all my color choices. I have touches of this in every room. It's the thread that connects all the rooms. I dislike the matchy matchy look and this room shows it. The seating is all different, design and color. I like a room to look like it has been created over time. I still need more on the wall behind the church pew. Still looking for that unexpected something........
