Etro

No brand does bohemian and elegance quite like Etro...

Etro is an Italian fashion house founded in 1968. The label remains a family business, with the founder's children in executive positions. The company is best known for its paisley patterned designs, which it began producing in 1981.

The New York Times called the Spring 2016 collection an "ode to turn-of-the-century femininity".

Print on print, lots of texture, fringe and feathers...if only money was no object.

Ulla Johnson

Ulla Johnson was born and raised in Manhattan, the daughter of archaeologists, she developed her signature style between the streets of New York and the far-flung destinations of their family travels.
Ulla Johnson's style has been described as "marrying art, whimsy and rock and roll"

The Other "Lauren"

Greg Lauren  designer and former actor (Young & the Restless) designs clothes that look upcycled -repurposing old clothes.

I'm loving this look!! It combines all my favorite styles...Bohemian, whimsical, vintage and ethnic using lots of denim and army green. What an inspiration for all you lucky people that know how to sew.

...he's also Ralph Lauren's nephew.

Geminola

Unfortunately I discover this fabulous little gem on the eve of it's closing...

Geminola "the teacup-size concept boutique had cultivated a loyal following in its 12-year run. Its carefully curated, madcap display of reconstructed vintage clothing, housewares, accessories and distressed tutus"

My dream is to own a little clothing boutique just like this!

Store owner and designer Lorraine Kirke use to live in this little gem in Greenwich Village...

Mary Randolph Carter

New York-based writer and editor Mary Randolph Carter worked her way through a number of positions in publishing -- including beauty and health editor at Mademoiselle and creative director at Self . These days, Carter is senior vice-president of publishing for Polo Ralph Lauren.

Her home is an Americana fantasy packed with enough antiques, oddities, and memorabilia from her insanely rich story to fill a museum. As she says, “I’ve never stopped to think if I felt like I needed it. It’s not a matter of need; it’s a matter of what is going to have personal meaning to me.” Her style, too, is about layering, white shirts and chinos, and vintage everything from coats, sweaters and vests, to vintage hats, Frye boots and jewelry.

Some of the books MRC has written (she has written eight);

I love her funky, fun, fabulous style. She does what I strive to do...
dress for personal expression with unique fashion.
