Vintage Eclectic Style

I know what my design style is... Vintage Eclectic Style

e·clec·tic
1. Selecting or employing individual elements from a variety of sources, systems, or styles
2. Made up of or combining elements from a variety of sources

vin·tage
1. Of or relating to a vintage.
2. Characterized by excellence, maturity, and enduring appeal; classic.
3. Old or outmoded.
What this means is I like it all...Country, Bohemian, Old World, Industrial, French, English . . .but it needs to be old.

The secret to making it all work is the balance.

Rough/Smooth
Shiny/Dull
Simple/Embellished
Busy/Calm
Dark/Lite

Feels like Home... eclectic family room

    This is my very first visit to your blog! I love your style-and now I know-I'm eclectic-who knew! If my husband would agree to it, I'd paint my wooden stairs green! I'll let you know how that goes.

    Vintage eclectic, eh? I just might fall into that style group as well. Every time I do one of those quizzes to find out my style I come out as eclectic and I do like older things. Hmmm. Interesting collection of photos - I agree they all have the tension of opposite qualities in them.

    Hi! I have just begun decorating my room and I am LOVING these styles. We have started painting my rooms a variety of bluish greenish shades, but none of them seem to fit with what I want and work with the lighting. I wanted to ask if you knew the name of the bluish-green color walled picture with the green couch and where you got it from. :)
