I found a couple of large ornate frames and painted them in my favorite paint colors. Then I spent weeks looking over family photos, choosing my favorites to make into collages (I made black & white copies). So far I have completed three; family, our children and my husband and me. I still need to find another frame and fill in the last space.

Stairway Finished?
We started this project a year ago (Stairway)...pulling up carpet, installing wood floors and adding bead board. All I had left to do was hang family pictures, but I couldn't decide what I wanted. I am not one to have many family photos around the house, I like to corral them into one area. The hallway is "family photo central" and I needed to find a way to add all these wonderful memories without it looking too cluttered. Our ceilings are 18' high and fewer bigger items look better than many small.

I'm not one to have alot of family photos around either. I really like that you painted the frames those bright colors. Really nice display!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Love the beadboard and love the color of the frames.

It looks fabulous! I love the idea of a "collage" instead of individual photos and the pops of color against the black and white is fantastic!
