Crafty Lady

What can I do with these??

This is my inspiration...

I bought a package of quilting square's at Jo-Ann Fabrics, cut them down to size and started tying them on...

kinda funky, fun and very colorful...

I just don't know how safe they are...wouldn't want the house to burn down. I've used a low wattage bulb and seldom turn this on.

I'll have to come up with some more ideas, this takes a lot of fabric and wouldn't be practical for the bigger shades.

Handy Dandy Shelf

I actually brought this home to hang on the wall...

I had this sitting in my dining room waiting for me to gather supplies and energy to hang it when...I realized it looked great where it was.

My first attempt at accessorising.

Much better, I like the paired down look (now I need to find something for the top of my Hoosier).

It's a great little shelf, it would also look good sitting on a dresser, buffet, or kitchen counter (maybe that's what it's meant to do??).

"Fifi"

My daughter needed a larger bedside table...and I happened to have one in need of a revamp...

My daughter chose the color orange, not apricot or terra cotta, she wanted traffic cone orange. I love color and a challenge...but this was UGLY after I painted, so I really worked on the distressing. I like the way the paint came off in chunks. I then dry brushed pink paint and added a dark glaze.

She now looks very Parisian, so we named her "Fifi".

Wouldn't it be fun to live in a barn? A barn that looks like this!

Our Farmhouse

"A place belongs forever to whoever claims it hardest...wrenches it from itself, shapes it, renders it, loves it so radically that he remakes it in his own image."
 -Joan Didion

I have finally put together a tour of my home...a work in progress. I wanted to provide this because when I peruse other blogs I always check out their Home Tour.

We moved into our home August 2005. We had just moved back to Maine after spending 20 years away (Hubby retired from the Air Force). This was the only house we looked at...we new immediately this was our home.

I love the look of an old house, but I didn't want to spend a lot of time on renovation...I'd rather have a new house and work on making it look old.

That's where the name "Vintage Farmhouse" comes from. Our home is a new farmhouse style and the interiors are full of vintage items.

We have painted every wall at least once, moved every piece of furniture, and carefully hung every picture. I love color, collections, and an eclectic assortment of things.

Our home is always a work in progress, sometimes the changes happen daily. I'll update these images often and I thank you for visiting!
