A Passive House

This is California's first Certified Passive House.

A Passive House is a very well-insulated, virtually air-tight building that is primarily heated by passive solar gain and by internal gains from people, electrical equipment, etc. Energy losses are minimized.

California's first certified Passive House located in Sonoma, California. Unlike many green/eco-friendly homes that have a tendency to be sleek and modernist, this home is described as a warm, modern farmhouse.

Alpine Ski Chalet

The design was inspired by the traditional mountain architecture of the Swiss Alps... painted posts and beams, built in furniture and numerous balconies.

Drew Barrymore's Home

Drew Barrymore has sold the mansion where she and Will Kopelman were wed. The two-story 1937 traditional home sits on two private acres and has six bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, more than 6,000 square feet and sold for over $6 million.

I really like this home, the rooms look cozy, colorful and comfortable...not easy to achieve with so much square footage.

Mix it Up

I love the look of multiple prints and lots of color in a room. I tend to be a little too matchy with my colors, but I'm working on adding a zinger color to my rooms.

I found these pictures on Pinterest of fun mixed patterned rooms...

This is a great idea when you can't find enough panels at the thrift store!

Animal Prints

I love animal prints in my decor ~ cow, leopard, zebra, dalmatian... They just add a little something unexpected and fun to a room.

I think they look great in any style home!

This 1940's kitchen has been "updated" with salvaged shelving, vintage art, Victorian glass drawer pulls, Carrara counter tops and antique lighting. The results are charming & budget friendly...
