I love the juxtaposition of the really old with the really new...not what is expected, but so much more fun and creative.

Alison Kandler's Colorful Farmhouse

Alison Kandler's farmhouse is beautiful! I love the color, the fun eclectic furnishings and the vintage accessories. I first saw this wonderful home at Hooked on Houses and then I obsessively cyberstalked to see more.

These images came from Houzz.com where you can see some other homes Alison has designed.

This is definitely one of those homes I could move into and not change a thing...

It takes a creative vision to be able to add charming details to this vintage cottage without compromising its original design. Crown moldings, reclaimed wood floors, and custom-fit doors combine the old with the new.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Renovation done right...too many times older homes have all the vintage charm and details removed and then replaced  by the latest fad design and materials. Making the home look dated instead of timeless.
