Farmhouse Dining Room

My Dining Room is finished...

The room just needed a little step up. I painted the cabinet and re papered the back. I thought I wanted a black background floral, but I realized this would be too dark. Also all the wallpaper I loved started at $50/roll. I only needed a small piece, so I didn't want to spend that much. I was at the Habitat for Humanity resale store looking at their paper, when the sales lady told me the store up the street was having a big sale...wallpaper on sale for $7/roll!! They didn't have a lot I liked, but I love this gold/cream damask print.

I was inspired to change my window coverings from this dining room picture I found in Country Living Magazine.

The home owner said she felt like these were "party dresses" for the windows.

I also painted the clock, someday I will find the perfect antique, but now I am in no hurry.

I like how the wall stripes and the plaid fabric relate, also one can never have enough pillows...

I did a little rearranging

added a couple of new thrift finds

and fresh flowers.

I am enjoying the updates, I still may add or change a couple of things...you know a room is never completely done;)

  5. You've really pulled this together nicely. And how about that $7/roll versus $50/roll. That's the kind of deal I enjoy, lol.

  16. you've done a nice job - this is a pretty room and I adore the combination of your old/antique furniture and tabletop items (particularly the pewter candlesticks!). Being finished would take away all the fun, right? :) We demonstrate love through what we do, imho.

  20. I've been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.
