A Passive House is a very well-insulated, virtually air-tight building that is primarily heated by passive solar gain and by internal gains from people, electrical equipment, etc. Energy losses are minimized.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

California's first certified Passive House located in Sonoma, California. Unlike many green/eco-friendly homes that have a tendency to be sleek and modernist, this home is described as a warm, modern farmhouse.

Drew Barrymore has sold the mansion where she and Will Kopelman were wed. The two-story 1937 traditional home sits on two private acres and has six bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, more than 6,000 square feet and sold for over $6 million.

I really like this home, the rooms look cozy, colorful and comfortable...not easy to achieve with so much square footage.
