Floral Wall Art

 I have been collecting floral wall art for years. I use to have it spread around the house, but after a while my look has changed and I no longer want flowers every where. I now have most of the flowers in the downstairs guest bathroom.

The print below was found in bad shape. The picture was stained and the frame broken. I cut the image out, Mod Podged it onto a decorative paper and added a painted frame.

I have 9' ceilings and I want the art to go to the ceiling.

I found the oil painting below at the flea market. The gold frame looked cheap and made the piece a little "velvet Elvis" feeling. I removed the frame to paint it and decided I really liked the frame less look.

As much as I try to keep the florals limited to the guest bath they do show up in  other rooms, these are oil paintings and I like this little collage in the living room.

Almost all my wall art is thrift store finds. Oil paintings are my favorite and I rarely pay more than $20 for a piece.

Dallas House Tour

Dallas homeowners Ken and Sandra Prater started remodeling their 1940s ranch 24 years ago. After the remodeling changes, Sandra, an interior designer at SHP Interiors, layered in her vintage collections with everything from plates, figurines, prints, furniture and other flea market or estate sale treasures.

Trade Show Design

My friend Jen just finished up her New England Products Trade Show (NEPTS) . Jen owns the company Miss Moonmaker and makes bath and body products. She is also a graphic designer and designed my logo (the rooster).

This is Jen's first year at NEPTS and she won the "Best Booth" award! Do you recognize the green hutch? This is the hutch I painted for Jen's kitchen and she used it for her booth. Actually this was always the plan, her products fit perfectly on the shelves and the green looks so good with all the colors in her logo. I also love the mismatched knobs she added to the doors.

Congratulations Jen, the booth is beautiful! The floor cloth looks amazing and the vintage tub is such a great touch.

Chairs, Chairs, Chairs

Surprise! I found some "new" vintage chairs...yes I have a problem, but check these fabulous pieces out.

This is actually a counter stool, I now need to find another unique piece and I can replace my current "average" looking stools. (the price for this...$0)

I found 2 of these wrought iron garden chairs at the antique mall. I plan on using them as dining chairs...I know they don't look like they would be very comfortable, but see the circle on the back and the screw holes...I'm going to upholster them. I can't wait to get this project done.

Then yesterday at the thrift shop, I found 4 of these vintage iron chairs.

I need to recover the seat cushions, maybe something with a 50's look. I will be selling these (I need to make some money to supply my "chair addiction").

1802 Brick Federal in New York

This 1802 brick federal home is up for sale. The place is full of beautiful antiques and it is a bit on the formal side. Even if you don't care for the decor, look at those gorgeous floors, curving stairs, fireplaces, chandeliers... I love the colors and the bathrooms are over the top decorated.

Wicker Furniture

Now that the snow has almost melted and the crocuses are starting to pop up, I am in full spring mode...that means cleaning out the closets, opening the windows to let the fresh air in and pulling out the porch furniture.

I love this wrap-around porch on a restored 1876 Victorian summer cottage in York Beach, Maine.

The children's set is adorrable.

This porch was part of a showhouse benifitting the Historical Society in 2005. Wicker and polka dots are classics and always look fresh and fun.
