My Own Shop

(Fort Andros)

I finally took a little step toward opening my own shop. I decided to start small and applied for a rental space at Cabot Antiques in Fort Andros. I thought I would have a couple of months to hear back, but after a couple of weeks I was offered a space available February 1st. I've been working like a crazy lady painting enough items to fill my new 8'x10' antiques space. It has been so much fun trying out new paint techniques and paint colors.

Almost all moved in, I call it "antiques with attitude".  My booth is more colorful than the others but I still need to add some accessories because it looks a little bare

If I lived in Austin, Texas, I would be at this store every day. Actually I would be dragging all my furniture "finds" in need of upholstery to these fantastic classes...

This is a great concept for a "furniture" store. Custom furniture available for sale and classes provided for people that want to learn how to do their own upholstery. They even have windows into the workshop to see the creations being made.

White Vermont Cape

I am in love with this 1820's Vermont kitchen. The farmhouse sink, multiple windows and warm antique wood floors give this kitchen so much personality. I usually go for rooms with much more color, but I could live in this kitchen.

As much as I love color inside a home, I prefer a white outside. Maybe it's the contrast I find so appealing, but I like the simplicity of this white antique cape with a metal roof and front and back porches.

Hammock, Adirondack chairs, wicker rockers, this backyard is perfect!

Needs a Step Up

I posted this picture a couple of months ago...

my first thought was "wow, I really need to dust!" then I thought "wow, what a boring look!". I like all the items, but nothing is really popping. 

So I purchased a few of these great little baroque frames from TJ Max, only $9.99 each.

I only wish they came in more colors...maybe I can paint them?

Road Island Farmhouse

Nancy Taylor's 1776 farmhouse is a labor of love, “We did the kind of major renovation where you take every single thing out of the house, label it and store it...” The results after replumbing, rewiring, and reworking her house are a cozy, calm and comfortable home.
